GregTron is a music project conceived by composer Gregory Hagel. Greg has had a long and fruitful music history, playing in many bands and ensembles in the Sacramento and San Francisco area over the past decade. A few notables include Legubitron; a psychedelic odd-time slacker prog band in which Greg played drums in, Sholi; a current band in which Greg contributes keyboards and percussion, and The Scrawnies; a punk-rock psychobilly band in which Greg plays drums.
“You’re Fired!” is a journey through a meta-physical world often encountered in dreams, psychedelic drugs, and other forms of escapism. “Outer Space” provides fodder for the beat counting prog fanatic, while “Game Over!” could easily become an anthem for video game lovers. “Work Give Me The Work Dreams” is a humor-laced rendition of a trapped white-collar employee, while “Visions of Fire” contemplates serious issues of life and individuality. “You’re Fired!” is projected to be released in late 2006 at record stores in Davis, San Francisco, and Sacramento, and on the World Wide Web.
