There actually is a street named Grantham Road. It’s in Mechanicsburg, PA where singer / guitarist / songwriter Flint Zeigler spent many summers listening to the music of Neil Young, Tom Petty and Blue Rodeo. Throw in some other diverse influences from Nirvana to Son Volt to Hank Williams, and you get an idea of where this band is coming from - rootsy rock from a singer/songwriter perspective, but with less twang and a bit more production.
The new CD, Parade, was produced by Jeff Feltenberger (formerly of the Badlees). Flint’s songs as performed by the band, combined with Jeff’s arranging and production skills, has resulted in an album of great depth and variety, yet it never strays from the Grantham Road sound. Triple-A radio has plenty to work with here, including the following focus tracks:

For radio stations that add singles rather than albums, the first single is the Neil Young cover, “Love Is a Rose.” For local Pennsylvania radio, the lead track is “I Won’t Fight.” Among the focus tracks, “Stranger” is included because the recording has best captured the band’s live sound. Longtime Badlees collaborator, Mike Naydock, submitted “They Fell out a Window.” It was reworked into a beautiful, lush arrangement that is the perfect ending to such an ambitious project.
The old Grantham Road band broke up a couple years ago. Two of the original members, Flint and Steve, resurrected the band name after hooking up with Jason during the recording of a song for the Central-PA Christmas Compilation CD. That tune, an original arrangement of “Angels We Have Heard on High,” was hailed in the press and it became the album’s most widely played track at radio in both 2004 and 2005. Regular holiday rotation was received throughout Central-Pennsylvania on a variety of formats. Triple-A airplay was led by WXPN in Philadelphia and extended nationwide on both commercial and non-commercial outlets. All of this has provided a solid base for the release of Parade.
