Web site bio.
Greg Loop was born and raised in central Pennsylvania. He caught the music bug at a very earlier age in fact, he still remembers writing his very first song at age four, entitled “You Better Run Buddy”. By age 13 he started playing bass and by 16 was playing gigs at parties, school events and anywhere else he was able to. When he was 21 he moved to Philadelphia and became a member of the local music scene there. The next five years were spent touring and recording as much as possible. But ultimately big city life and the business side of the music industry wore him out, so he moved on.
In 1992 he moved to Pittsburgh Pa. A much smaller city, Pittsburgh proved to be quite suitable, and he spent the next few years playing music within its tight knit musical community. However in 1998 he met his wife Rikki and was soon married. Music took a back seat for awhile until his son Ian was born. By age 3, Ian had a guitar and drum set, and that got Greg back into playing and writing music. This time however it was not loud rock and roll he was writing, but rather children’s music became his interest.
Which brings us to the present, now living just outside Pittsburgh with wife and child, Greg has reentered the music world with his cd “ Stories from Duke Puddintown.” Where he goes from here is not clear, but you can be sure he’ll have a guitar in his hand when he gets there.
