Gregory James burst on the contemporary scene in 1978 and has continued to garner praise, airplay, and fans in his restless search for musical adventure. After performing with Chico Hamilton in New York and touring both coasts, he returned to native San Francisco to start the fiery rock band, Video Rouge. A return to jazz roots in the early ''80s saw the release of the critically acclaimed albums Alphabet Town and Tibet on Rogue Records.
