Skydro, an artist from Las Vegas, NV, is Hip-hop mixed with Reggae music and an overwhelmingly positive vibe. Originally from the islands of Belize, Skydro has lived all over the United States including New York, Los Angeles, and for the past 5 years, Las Vegas, Nevada.
A deeply spiritual man, music has always been his true passion. When he met David Rosen, a producer/composer also based out of Las Vegas, the two developed a musical rapport, creating many underground hits including "Every Star," "Ghosts of Struggle," and "Hip Hop Dreams." Skydro''s Hip-Hop and Reggae influence, mixed with Rosen''s Hip-Hop and New Age instrumental stylings, made for a truly original music experience.
While Skydro started to build a following with his crew, FunkDNA and the T-Funk Squad, Rosen worked on his craft, producing a number of other artists and groups. It took almost five years for the duo to get to work on a full length album, but the finished product is well worth the wait. "Every star got it''s own shine," Skydro says is his mantra, quoting a line from his song, "Every Star."
The road to his debut album, "Success Stories," was long and filled with many twists and turns, but is already beginning to pay off. Performing the first single, "Hope," at the American Society of Young Musician''s "Hollywood Live" 2008 Showcase (hosted by Skydro''s good friend, and ASYM President, Jarvee Hutcherson), was early proof that the songs from the album would be true hits.
Over twenty songs were recorded for the album, each of which display strong lyrics, melody, creativity, and most importantly, positive energy. "I hope to touch people with my art and my body of work," Skydro says. "''Success Stories,'' will be a massive success and it is only the beginning."
