Formed in the spring of 2002 in the small Northeastern Kentucky town known as Ashland, Split Nixon released their freshman album as an independent artist. This collection of songs and their live performance quickly commanded attention from the local music scene and eventually reached the ears of the L.A. – based management company Ameritone Entertainment. With the help of Freddie Vasquez through Manhattan – based Indigoot Entertainment, Split Nixon began touring with many bands on the Indigoot roster including three tours with multi-platinum Island Recording Artists “Saliva”. To this date, Split Nixon has shared the stage on the road with many popular national bands such as: Shinedown, Collective Soul, Theory of a Deadman, Breaking Benjamin, Bobaflex, FlyLeaf, Soundevice, Black Stone Cherry, Soil, Ra, Future Leaders of the World…..and many more. The band is currently sponsored by the following companies: Jagermeister, U.S. Masters Guitars, Voodoo Guitars, Sabian Cymbals, Taye Drums, Silverfox sticks, Everly Strings. In 2007, the band took a much needed eighteen month hiatus and later returned to the studio in the spring of 2009 for the completion of their follow up record. Currently, the album is set to release in September of 2009…..watch out!!!
