I''m a divorced mother of five small children (ages 3,4,5,7 and 11), working a full time job. Finding time for my own dreams was something I never thought possible, but thanks to encouragement from some very dear friends my dreams are taking shape faster than I ever thought possible. In March of this year, I decided I would just make it happen- let my imagination run wild and leave no stone unturned. I''ve always loved jazz music, and I''ve had original songs running through my head since high school.... for probably about the last twenty years. I never wrote them down; they never took shape. Hundreds of songs have been lost. On March 1st, 2009 I decided that I wouldn''t keep losing the music, and I started writing it down- working every weekend to get the songs out of my head and into the world. Since then, I''ve written 37 songs. Twelve of them are already recorded onto my first vocal jazz CD which just released June 16, 2009. I had 300 people turn up for my CD release party, and I made the local news. I love sharing the music. I love singing. I''ve got a lot to learn, but I''m loving the journey! Once I determined to begin the project, everything fell into place. I''m not just writing music; I''m writing the story of my life. A year ago, I wouldn''t have believed it was possible. Today, I believe the possibilities are endless. -Carla
