As long as she can recall she knew that Lord had chosen her to minister HIS words through songs. At a young age, she remebered singing songs that she had never been taught. While singing in the Choir at The St. John Baptisit Church in Marshall, Texas her talent was nurtured. It was approximately age nine that she began writing songs. Barbara traveled with various choirs all over the world during her college days. In 2001, she was blessed to complete her first gospel CD titled Guardian "Angel". God allowed her to release three more CDs titled, "Jubilations", "I''m Free" and the most recent one "Songs Momma Taught Me". "Songs Momma Taught Me" is an anointing CD as the artist will take you to a new height within the Spirit ream. It is so anointing that as you listen it will destroy all strongholds and breathrough barriers and obstacles. Since her debut, God has allowed her to experience many endeavors. She was blessed to sing with Gospel Artists such as Dorothy Norwood and Carolyn Traylor. She received two Awards for "Album of the Year" in 2008 and 2009 from The East Texas Gospel Academy Awards. She was a candidate for the Gospel Music Workshop of America, (Gospel Treasure Search) in Dallas Texas on August 2002. Ms. Cox has appeared as a special guest on many TV and radio broadcast. She has also been featured in many local newspaper and magazines publications. Ms. Cox was honored by the Mayor of Tyler, Barbara Bass, on April 12, 2009 for her outstanding work in the community. She has been a teacher for children with Specail Needs for ten years. She has dedicated her services to working at The Salvation Army and Independent Living Assistance Homes. She also volunteered to participate in a fundraiser concert for Breast Cancer patients, (Relay for Life) in 2007 organized by the American Cancer Society. She is also a member of the Civitan Club of America. She host a Christian Television show, "Big Break" aired on Harvesttime Network. Presently, she plans to travel and perform in various states and countries including Nigeria, Africa for a World Conference. Barbara was born in Marshall, Texas; however she has resided in the "Rose City" of Tyler, Texas for twenty-three years. She''s a rose in the midst of life''s thorns. Barbara is an anointed person and loves the Lord.
