AX1:8 was formed in the year 2005 at a church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The individual members were connected by a common passion for leading youth to worship Jesus Christ. Joe Miller, a former bass player, began playing the drums; Michael Kuhn, also a former bass player, switched to acoustic and electric guitars and vocals; Dwight Kuhn, another former bass player, kept his bass and contributes vocals; Megan Kuhn and Marcy Miller add to the band with harmonies and lead vocals. Together AX1:8 has the ability to perform a wide range of musical styles.
While leading worship for youth groups, contemporary Christian church services, and countless church and community festivals, AX1:8 honed their skills and began writing original songs of devotion, praise and worship. The songs that God gave to AX1:8 to write are meant to comfort, encourage, and strengthen Christians’ relationships with God and one another, as well as comfort, encourage and introduce the Gospel Salvation to secular audiences. These songs, along with personal testimonies, Biblical devotions, prayer, and the presence of the Holy Spirit, contribute to a unique and dynamic worship experience that has the power to reach audiences of all ages and a vast array of musical preferences.
