Prairie Cats hail from the heart of the heartland but are known the world over. Formed in 1998 in Omaha, Nebraska, the seven-piece band delivers an all-original mix of swing, jazz, and jump-blues.
Prairie Cats have performed at the prestigious South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas, Hollywood’s famous Derby Lounge (as seen in the movie Swingers), and Windows on the World at the World Trade Center (June, 2001). In 2007 and 2008, the Prairie Cats were included on several Sony/BMG compilations throughout Europe alongside the likes of Tony Bennett and Natalie Cole.
Released in June, 2009, “Fires Below” is the band’s third recording.
