Ever since attending a weekend retreat back in 1990, music has come alive in my heart. Even before that time music and the guitar were part of my life, mainly for leisure. Musicians are always in demand to provide music for weekend retreats. So it began. I remember once making a commitment with a good friend to always say yes when asked to be part of the music ministry for any retreat that came along. Soon with the popularity of the retreat movement it became difficult to say yes every time. During one year alone there were 14 retreats. One of the great blessings has been all the music and other musicians I have been exposed to and worked with. So many gifted songwriters have provided me with beautiful music and lyrics that have touch the hearts of many. Including my own heart. One of the most revealing and inspiring events is witnessing the return of the Holy Spirit into someone’s life.
The name of the CD, PRE-PAID is all about The Good News. That we are all saved In HIS precious BLOOD and are granted Eternal Life. The song By Our Love is about being a loyal Christian by showing love for one another. When love is absent the Light of Christ is not revealed. Proclaiming the Word of God. Let us all proclaim the GOOD News. The song Your Name is HIS Name, was inspired while spending quiet time with the Brothers of St. John in Laredo, Texas. We are created in His name, His Image. And we are His precious children. The song Lamb of God, was inspired in San Juan Basilica while on retreat.
Everyday we must imitate Christ as best we can and not slay each other by what we say or do. Although, when we are treated unfair and unjust we must show tenderness and mercy. The song Just Love, is just a plea to do exactly that, GIVE LOVE period! If it’s not Love don’t share it. The song Wings, was inspired by the reality that we are made of flesh that will die. One day I felt a lump in my groin and became very concerned about the future. That’s when Jesus becomes more alive than ever in your life. The wings of the Holy Spirit are there to carry you with strength and courage no matter what happens to you here on earth. The song Psalm 23, is such a special Psalm to so many people here on earth and in Heaven. The song Anyone Can Call , is just a reminder the Lord is always ready to listen to anyone and invites you to feel HIS PRESENCE. Song ten and eleven is the Greatest song ever written.
