An eclectic blend of acoustic, rock, blues, R&B and funk with brass accents; gritty vocals and harmonies lay out lyrics ranging from social commentary (“Video Game Junkie”) to introspective (“Setting Sun”) to biographical (“Yellow Line”) to autobiographical (“The Dub”).
The scoop
This project (working title – P1) was the illogical result of a collection of songs I wrote for the first The Rust original CD. Most of the songs for P1 were found not “Rustworthy” and I was faced with the classic writer’s dilemma; record them myself or leave them unheard, unsung, forgotten… Hope you enjoy it.

About the artist
Phil Klahn - A prolific songwriter, Phil taught himself piano, studied jazz guitar and music theory. He has produced or co-produced his own solo projects (Phankl) as well as local artists The Rust, H2H, Darlene Anderson and the Gospel Sons. He performs live occasionally with The Rust, Phankl, and The Gospel Truth Vocal Band.
