The fresh, new sound of Glenn Makos has been years in the making. He has honed his chops to a razor’s edge the hard way- playing the clubs of New York, including Birdland, The Blue Note, The Five Spot, and The Knitting Factory. Makos has performed with Grammy nominated artists Tim Hagans and Dave Taylor, pianists Brian Jackson, Joel Weiskopf, and D.D. Jackson, bassist Sean Smith and drummers Gene Lewin and Steve Davis.
Makos has worked with legendary jazz singer Cleo Laine and saxophonist John Dankworth and has backed entertainment icons including Liza Minelli, Neil Diamond, Jack Jones, Al Martino, Jerry Van Dyke and Jay Black & the Americans. He has toured with the Ellington-heavy Broadway show Sophisticated Ladies.
