DONK! is not your ordinary band. DONK! isn''t a dream. You need DONK! and DONK! knows it. DONK! is the culmination of about a 10 year audition process of some of the best and brightest of the Amarillo music scene and the brainchild of Drew Holder, owner of local Amarillo recording studio AMP Studio. If you don''t know it already, Amarillo is a town full of gifted artists and Drew has worked with many of them. (You know who you are.) It''s just that the guys in DONK! were so good AND they kept showing up. The old saying goes, "The hero is just the guy that shows up." One thing is for sure, DONK! is made up of heros. Luke Holder - guitar/vocals. Rick Faucett - pedal steel/vocals. Justin Hedgecoth - bass/vocals. Rick Diculus - drums. Luke Holder has released four solo albums since 1999, written hundreds of songs, and performed as front man for his own band for the last 10 years. Rick Faucett plays pedal steel with at least 4 bands currently, has played with countless bands in the past, and is a hands-down master of his instrument. Justin Hedgecoth is a bass player in 4 local bands and comes to the scene from legendary Lubbock, TX where he cut his teeth in the rock world. Rick Diculus is a drumming monster most often compared to John Bonham and without his unstoppable beat, DONK! would not be DONK! Drew brought Rick Faucett in to record pedal steel on Luke''s last solo effort, "Sun Came Up", and that''s when the idea of DONK! started to finally take shape. Drew had always thought Ric Diculus'' drumming would be perfect for Luke''s music, but not until Drew heard Rick F. did Drew see the light. Ric Diculus had performed on many of Luke''s albums, but never as full time drummer. Drew felt that the combo of Rick F. and Ric D. could finally bring to Luke''s music what had been missing for those first four albums. With Luke, Rick F. and Ric D. in place, all Drew needed was a bass player. That''s when Justin stepped in and DONK! was born. Drew is currently working on the first DONK! album during the breaks in his busy recording schedule at AMP Studio. DONK! has been playing together since 2006. DONK! is ready, ready as any band can be. DONK! is ready for you - I hope you''re ready for DONK!
