The simple concept of G2 --four guys , writing songs, rocking out, and
praising God ,which is actually very complex.
As , G2 transcends the Mexican/American roots they are very proud of with a poetic ability to
express the universal truths inspired by their culture ,history, and their
love for Jesus Christ. They take on the things that are important in
life: God, love, justice, and freedom. And they do it without sacrificing
the things that excite rock fans: musicians getting a major groove on with
songs that take you through a musical journey.
G2 was formed in the early 1990''s and started playing praise and worship songs in churches in Mexico,
and America, they were first know as Second Generation, which represents their family''s
love for Jesus Christ, and the gift of music through generations of worship and praise.
In 1998 they recorded their first album "Second Generation", which was a collection of original songs some
written by the founding members, and some written by friends and family.
In 2004 G2 started recording their second album entitled "La Puerta", with
11 new songs that seemed to show their progression as a band and as
songwriters, The album "La Puerta" has provided many opportunities, with
the single "Cristo es el Camino", which was a number 1 song on radio
stations in Puerto Rico, and Mexico, people began to notice their profound
writing ability''s,and strong hooks, the album also produced 2 more hit
singles, "Mi Alma Vive", and "Quisiera", which are still currently being
played on international radio stations across the globe.
In the fall of 2005, G2 went back into the studio to record 3 more singles, but this time
they had a different goal in mind, more in your face rock and roll, which
would show once again their never ending passion to create new and exciting music.
After receiving a great response with the harder edge music,G2 went in the studio in 2008 to record their 2nd full length album entitled"
Cambios"a 12 song album which would once again showcase their songwriting ability''s, the album would also included 1 song in English
"Break Me". the new album will be avaliable in the summer of 2009.
With such a diverse background of sound and textures each member believes their music will continue to cross over in a way
that will provide music lovers the never ending musical journey of G2.
