Out of the treeless barrios of Hialeah-FL an unlikely blend of punk and Latino bravado has found a voice in Espanglish rock band Güajiro.
Raw and undiluted, Güajiro is the antithesis of the music championed by South Florida''s stale radio programming. Combining classic rock and 70''s English punk, this quartet brings together intelligence and revolution in the soul of their music, qualities that have been absent from today''s bubblegum ingénues.
Band Members come to this project from old school Punk/Hardcore bands such as The Vandals, Slapshot, and Ignite.
Their recently recorded self titled EP is Güajiro’s first step onto the national scene. Produced by Jorge "Teresito" Correa and mixed by Darian Rundall (Pennywise/ Yellowcard), this powerful debut on Long Beach Records will show music lovers that rock and roll still beats untamed in their chests.

"Guajiro" is a Cuban peasant, or farm worker.
Legend has it that the origin of the word "GUAJIRO" came from the Spanish American War in 1898. The story goes that after the good guys won, The US Army told all the Cuban peasants that helped fight in the war that they were free...that they were all "WAR HEROS"....
They heard this and walk away triumphant "Guajiros"....
