JAZZ: Smooth Jazz, BLUES: Rhythm & Blues
Details:
Composer, producer Guymon Ensley arrives as one of the industries newest and hottest jazz trumpeters. Since his first release with his band, GEQ, Guy took to the pen again and began to put together this EXTENDED PLAY play CD containing three "hot" original tunes and a "groovin" instrumental remix of Bill Withers'' "Grandma''s Hand." However, it''s only a tease of what''s coming later this year.
Later this year, look for more hot numbers from Guymon''s pen as well as "slammin" instrumental remixes of hits by such artists as Donny Hathaway and Luther Vandross. The tunes on the release will cross at least three genres of music. It will appeal more to the modern, classic jazz enthusiast because of the "grooves." However, one will definitely hear the be-bop riffs and the hip messages of that era. There will be a hint of hip-hop and some swing too. The appeal will be one that may appease the hard-core jazz listener, convert the smooth jazz fan and or enlighten those who love hip-hop. In short, the CD will be for everybody!
CUTS ON THIS EXTENDED PLAY CD ARE:
Track #1 She’s On Her Way - a hot easy listening selection grooving under a captivating melody line
Track #2 Grandma’s Hand - a smokin’ instrumental arrangement of one of the most noted tunes of the nineteen sixties
Track #3 Sonic n’ C - a hard driving piece of work that is laced with horn ensemble and percussion
Track #4 What A Funk Down - a medium temple instrumental that combines a simple melody with a subtle, alluring funky groove
