Details:
Caribbean bolero and chachacha, Andean cueca and carnavalito, Venezuelan joropo, Peruvian festejo, pasillo and vals from Costa Rica, Argentinean tango and chacarera, Brazilian bayon and bossa nova, are some of the rhythms you can enjoy in this album.

A work done between Spain and Costa Rica, this new recording is produced by Susana Poveda from ProLatinMusic.
This album is based on the testimonies of a little lizard called EL CHELCO and his friend a guitar player, who went from town to town in America, interpreting the songs he learned along the way. The story is written by the Argentinean poet and puppeteer Teuco Castilla and translated to English by H. Francis, friend, novelist, and translator of Daniel Moyano.

Only a Ricardo Moyano, who brings together so many modes, can temper the guitar with a single, precise and deep sensibility and with the many excesses which enrich Latin American music from the Río Grande to Tierra del Fuego. Not only has he performed in five continents where he played in the most prestigious auditoriums, where critics and public lauded him among the world’s finest guitarists, but also in solitary places which evoke his memory.
Born in Argentina and brought up in exile, from adolescence Moyano has been a first class interpreter of classical music. I was a witness to his obsessive practice because I lived in his house. There, dedicated to the highest art, he seemed always to have his head in the clouds, practicing hour after hour, sound flowing like water which draws water to create its own fountain, like the singing of the roots of upturned trees.
Here, in these works, Ricardo, who plays with extreme rigor, returns to his nature, to the popular repertory, without losing its essence, elevated by the guitar to an intense musical density. In this way, just as he unleashes a Chilean cueca with a velocity enamored of its own brio, in the same way he masters moderation with desolate mood in a Brazilian song or transforms as with two or three instruments “Guantanamera” and all with an impeccable rhythmic variety.
The algebra of music is evident, as we know, when it leaves the memory deeply stirred. Then what is virtue becomes wonder. Then, as in this case, artist and music burn together, disappear. And what is heard are the secrets which only the guitar knows.
