Details:
Through ordinary approach, It is difficult to describe Ghosts On The Radio, because there is nothing ordinary about this band.
From beginning to end it''s a journey of successes and disappointments
More often disappointments, but always followed by optimism and strife.
The adventure began at childhood
Before adult walls were built
At a point of vulnerability and honesty
In a small-town suburb with English weather
Midnight practices in a rusty dusty warehouse full of imported European statues
Dim orange street lamps
Maple scented candles
And quirky best friends dreaming and creating until the sun came up
The first time Ian strummed a guitar he knew immediately that he would never put it down
He''s always had a unique ability to communicate as a writer, and this new found talent would allow him to magnify those words and emotions which he felt needed to be expressed
It became immediately apparent what needed to happen
Ian wrote a handful of songs and presented them to Adam
Adam loved what he heard
He still, to this day, claims to be the #1 Ghosts On The Radio fan, but he wasn''t sure which instrument he wanted to pursue
So he dabbled in them all
And finally settled on what felt natural...the bass
And it began
Ian, the internal type, the song writer, the dweller, throws up before shows
Adam, the performer, the motivator, crazy and loud, strives on excitement
Their chemistry plays a huge role in the Ghosts On The Radio experience
After years of polishing and playing small unusually successful shows and a consistent stream of working with unsatisfactory producers to create unsatisfactory recordings Ghosts On The Radio moved to LA
Within the first month they began recording a four song EP
Ian decided to learn the system and mix, produce and engineer everything himself
They tracked every instrument including drums and vocals in Ian''s bedroom
After the EP was released on Myspace, word traveled fast
Within weeks they were a "Myspace featured band"
The Arizona Reporter listed "Valentine''s Day" as the #5 hottest download
They booked their first L.A. show at The Viper Room on August 30th 2005
It was sold out.
They say it was the biggest draw an opening band ever brought
Ian was outside signing boobs for an hour after the show. They were then contacted to do an interview by Se7en Magazine
And they continued playing The Viper Room almost every month
From time to time they have other musicians join in
But the heart and soul of Ghosts On The Radio is and always will be Ian''s song writing and Adam''s intensity
They strive for perfection through a style of music that is felt as much as heard. Look for their latest music video "Black" as well as a "Black EP" that is available through itunes, CD Baby, and many other music- download websites
