Details:
Having grown up with NY AM radio in its heyday, absorbing the music of their heroes and then listening to the music that influenced their heroes, four guys in Brooklyn put a band together and set out to make some noise.

Hackamore Brick was signed to a record deal in 1970. The label was KamaSutra. The album was “One Kiss Leads to Another”. The record received some good reviews. The group worked a week at the Bitter End in Greenwich Village, NY and left for a seven week job in St. Thomas, VI, at Duffy’s Place in the Sun. Besides their own material, the set list in those days included Chuck Berry’s “You Never Can Tell”, Leiber and Stoller’s, “Searchin”, Curtis Mayfield’s “Mama Didn’t Lie” and also “Rockin Robin”, “On Broadway” and a late night version of “I’m in the Mood for Love”.

They returned to NY, played one night at Ungano’s and then recorded “Searchin” as their first 45 RPM single with “Radio” as the flip side.

It was time to record a second album. There was some disagreement about where to record and in this controversy, the contract was ended. The release of the single was stopped and the group had some decisions to make. The mid seventies found Chick and Tommy working with other musicians and recording from time to time. They worked most of the local clubs in the city – CBGB, Max’s Kansas City, and Folk City in the Village among others. They recorded an album’s worth of material in Austin, Texas in 1984. These recordings are now being prepared for later release.

In 2003 – 2004, Tommy was recording some songs in a Brooklyn studio and called Chick to see if he was interested in helping out. They did some work together but that project was dropped. In 2007, they decided to work towards an act. They did a trial recording that year and then in July of 2008, they began work on this CD. They set up a Myspace page and a website. The band found that a new generation had discovered the album in the late 80’s and early 90’s.

The 6-song CD is here. They hope to do a longer CD by the end of 2009.
