Wayne was born January 2, 1954 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Born into a christian home, his mother, late Rev. Dorothy Powell was the pastor of St. Michael Temple of Faith and his father, the late Ernest Powell was the head deacon.
Wayne began singing at an early age and has pursued his ministry through songs. It is his way of reaching young, old, and all races through his songs. God has given us all a work to do and this is what he has given to Wayne. There is a message through songs and praise and that is what Wayne wants to do reach out through his music.
"Purpose" the reason for which something exists or is done, made, used, an intended or desired result, goal, determination. This is the message that Wayne is trying to get across through this album. That Jesus is the reason for our existence. Set our goals but know as we push toward them obstacles will come our way. But focus on Jesus, for Jesus is our everything.
