MP3 Ten Pound Troy - Endless Loop

A skewed flair of power pop with discernable choruses and heavy guitar describes the songsmithings of Ten Pound Troy. Spawned from the depths of suburbia (like everyone else), without a scene to rely on, without reward, with some respect, and no remorse.

Ryan Hemming
singer, songwriter, guitarist

As a teenager, Ryan began writing and playing songs around coffee houses in Los Angeles county. In the beginning, he was a twisted teenage folk singer heavily influenced by Syd Barrett, the Stooges, and the Beatles. After many acoustic sets disrupted by coffee house conversations, he decided to form a power trio and put a fuzz box to the warm songs he wrote.

While attending Citrus College in Glendora, California, Ryan answered a "Musician Wanted" sign posted by Garrett Johnson in the music department. The two quickly became friends and started recording on Ryan''s four track recorder.

In 1995, Ten Pound Troy was formed, with Ryan''s elder brother Mike Hemming playing drums. In need of a bassist, Ryan summoned Garrett to play bass on some tracks he was recording in a studio in San Dimas. The sessions were quick and with few bumps. One track (Look Up, Look Down) recorded during this session was featured locally on KROQ''s "Music From Your Own Backyard."

Ryan is currently a Bail Bondsman in Southern California and still recording his songs.
