MP3 Brenda Belcher - Another Autumn Day
Brenda’s songwriting has been compared to that of Joni Mitchell, for her clean acoustic folk sound and clear voice, while her themes are unique, using her own heartbreaks and triumphs as inspiration for creating this hopeful, potent music.

Brenda is a seeker and a romantic. Always searching for how things fit into the big picture. What the hell are we here for anyway?
After a 13-year affair with classical piano, she decided it was time to take on something less predictable, and more demanding. It might have sufficed to put the sheet music in the bench and set to composing on the familiar ivory keys, but people like Joni Mitchell, Tracy Chapman, Tori Amos, Beth Orton and others seemed to be calling her to the acoustic guitar.
About 5 years later, Another Autumn Day emerged as a lyrical illustration of Brenda’s life. It’s a story about real life, and it’s all true, but it’s told a little different than how others might say it went. Brenda makes sure to put in all the stuff that gets left out in real-time consciousness. Like the significance of a lock of hair, or a weekend trip to the moon. Putting life to music gives imperfection a pretty dress and a flower in her ear. It lets us tell the story our way. Brenda would love it if you listened to one of her songs and then forgave someone.
