Even though this is Tammi''s first major release, she''s been "at the piano" ever since she was in early elementary school---playing by ear long before she began piano lessons at the age of ten.
For eight years Tammi studied piano under the careful guidance of a private instructor. In her later years of study, Tammi was encouraged by her instructor to enter a competition for "performance of hymns" at what was then known as Christopher Newport College. The Lord used these three years of competitions to reveal to Tammi the direction He wanted to take her music: the local church. To further lead her in this direction, He opened the door for her to begin her ministry as a church pianist while she was just a Junior in high school. In 1994, she become church pianist for Faith Baptist Church, where she currently enjoys ministering through her music. Although Tammi arranges and records piano/ instrumental music on her Korg Triton Studio keyboard, she equally enjoys performing solos on the piano.
In 1997, Tammi had to cope with the unexpected loss of her sister. From this grief and brokenness Tammi felt she could no longer play the piano: saying, "How can I play from a heart that is broken?" It was at this pivotal moment that the Lord began to show her how He "only uses broken things." Through this tragic loss the Lord so graciously revealed to her how we must be "broken" in order to be "spilled-out" and used of God. Remembering where she was and how crushed her heart had been keeps Tammi focused on WHY the music (or anything else) is possible. It is only because of the Lord, and His grace and healing power "to save a crushed spirit" that Tammi is able to minister to other hearts today. (Psalm 34:18.)
Tammi credits the Lord for her musical abilities, claiming two key Scriptures: "Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father above." James 1:17, and "Without Him I can do nothing." John 15:5
Surrender is a collection of songs that each have a special "Story Behind the Song." From lullabies in the Precious Memories Medley arranged for her children, to the tribute to her sister in Finally Home----they all have a special place in Tammi''s heart, and she hopes they will for you too!

Using her Korg Triton Studio 88 keyboard, Tammi records the piano track, then adds each accompanying instrumental track, one track at a time. Surrender was designed by Disc Makers, and mastered by The SoundLab at Disc Makers.
