If a healthy dose of friendship and chemistry can propel a band to success, then Bosc has a promising future. Bosc is comprised chiefly of Brett Lesher and James Campbell, who met four years ago and quickly discovered unity in each others musical tastes. Lesher and Campbell say they met through the college roommate potluck, but had they not been roommates, it seems fate would still have these two playing music together; Bosc works.
Lesher, like most people, began to enjoy music by listening to whatever his parents were listening to. He recalls finding an acoustic guitar that was given to his father, and like many other teenage boys, immersed himself in learning how to play the most popular instrument. Brett soon fell in love with the guitar, and in the next few years began writing songs to put music with his poetry.
James Campbell, who plays keyboard for Bosc, has a more formal musical training. Campbell started piano lessons with his mother in 1st grade. After several years, a classically trained pianist took Campbell as his pupil. Campbell''s background allows him to play piano with an educated sense and appreciation for what is technically sound and emotionally moving.
Bosc officially started playing music together in the Spring of 2005. Lesher had been playing his songs as a solo act when the two roommates decided it was time to work together. Finding a lonely piano, Lesher and Campbell began working out Bretts music and quickly realized their musical styles were nothing short of dynamic.
Adding Charles Thompson on Drums and Jason Ontjes with the Bass rounded out the sound and Bosc quickly added fans by the hundreds. Aesthetically, Boscs music paints a full myriad of palatable colors. Their music often turns to seasons when looking for descriptive settings to place the mood.
After releasing their first EP to favorable audiences with several tracks as fan favorites, the gents have been able to craft poetic snapshots of life. In addition their infectious pop hooks with moody sensitivity is a guaranteed evening of good music
