LOCAL ATLANTIC CITY MUSICIAN DEBUTS
NEW ALBUM “LIFE (AND JADE)”

March 17, 2006 (Atlantic City, NJ) Local Atlantic City Musician, Barry Bender today announces the debut of his new album “Life (and Jade).” Bender, a multi-instrumentalist composer, singer, arranger, producer and teacher has been passionate about music for over 30 years. This album is a culmination of many of his works featuring a variety of original songs inspired by the likes of the legends Garcia, Coltrane, Dylan, Mozart, Beethoven and Lennon to name a few. ‘This album has taken six years to produce and a lifetime to conceive. All the songs are 100% original, organic, hand-made music with a message. The album was created for those who still have ears and are willing to listen,” says Bender.

“Life (and Jade)” is available now at CD Exchange in Northfield, NJ or on line at CD https://www.tradebit.com. The album retails for $12. A two dollar donation for each purchase will go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Foundation to honor a dear friend Barry Cohen who is fighting a brave battle against Leukemia. “ We hope this music brings great joy to all who listen—while at the same time reaching out to those in need.”

Bender, 48 years old, was inspired by his musician father Herbert Bender who died when Barry was 16. Herbert was a pioneer in the 60’s and 70’s creating live bands to perform at private affairs. Also a multi-instrumentalist, he was primarily known for his saxophone. Although he started to play music at age five, Barry did not begin his music career until after the death of his father. “It was as if through me his music continued” says Bender.

Bender, a father of two, is also a CPA/MBA with a thriving accounting practice and he is a professor of accounting, finance and management at Rowan University, The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and Atlantic Cape Community College. When he isn’t working in his accounting business, fulfilling his Professorship responsibilities, performing with various groups or creating new music with his daughters Leah and Hillary, Bender enjoys fishing off the Boardwalk by his home in The Inlet section of Atlantic City with his girlfriend Jennifer O’Dell who designed the album cover, among countless other duties. The album was produced in cooperation with David Bendeth of Type A Records whose most recently produced Hawthorne Heights “If Only You Were Lonely” album which entered the charts at #3 this month.
