Catherine Conrad is the Banana Lady

Growing up in Madison, Wisconsin, Catherine always dreamed of being an actress. Training for a professional career in the performing arts Catherine received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre in 1983 from California State University Northridge. Further Los Angeles training led her to film, television, radio, stand-up comedy and live theatre. She found her passion in musical children''s theatre, creating a one-woman touring company traveling the mainland United States and Hawaii...this was the birth of the "Banana". Today, Catherine has come back to her roots in Madison, Wisconsin to share her 17 years of experience as her signature character "Banana Lady". Her strange and wonderful partnership with David Usitalo has led to the creation of a fierce little theatre company called "Banana Productions" where they endeavor to present a fresh and positive approach to musical children''s theatre with Banana''s Adventure Series. Through "Parties With A Peel" Catherine also offers custom entertainment through children''s birthday parties, company picnics and comedy singing telegrams.

DAVID USITALO

David Usitalo grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan. He began pursuing his theatre dreams in high school and college during the 1960''s. Graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1970 with a degree in Speech and English Education David invested the 70''s in a variety of theatrical enterprises as a technician, designer, actor and director. He worked in Washington D.C., New York City, western Massachusetts, Seattle and Denver, only to find his passion touring as a one-man puppet company. Because of the gradual loss of his eyesight he reluctantly stepped away from puppetry but found very satisfying work as a writer and actor for children''s programming with Wisconsin Public Radio. The 80''s and 90''s found him serving as a teacher and administrator in Madison, Wisconsin. In 1999 David turned to explore the powerful potential of one on one work with kids in various workshop settings, thus founding "George''s Shop". Then the Banana Lady walked in. Two sets of long held dreams happily merged into a strange and wonderful partnership and fierce little children''s theatre company called "Banana Productions".
