AND THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE. "BAREFOOT TRUTH", THAT IS....

Lennon and McCartney, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Gilbert and Sullivan, Simon and Garfunkel. Throughout history, creative minds of genius have appeared and have come together- as if ordained by the stars, and have given to us the gift of music. In a day where music has become processed and commercial, is there no one left who can make real, organic, original music that truly touches our soul? Happily, the answer is Yes! Jay Driscoll and Will Benoit, two young men from New England who call themselves "Barefoot Truth" have quickly captured the hearts and spirits of New Englanders and fans the world over with their raw, organic, feel-good music inspired by their youthful zest for life and truth.

Jay and Will met on the beach in Groton Long Point, CT in 2003 and within hours they were jamming together with their Tacoma and Ovation acoustic guitars on the roof of Jay''s family beach home. Little did they know this chance meeting would mark the beginning of a new, fresh sound which is redefining music and attracting enthusiastic fans from all over the world. It''s a little folk, a little rock, a little emo, a little classical and a whole lot of Jay and Will. It is filled with the soul of two young men whose collaboration brings a refreshing new sound to a stale, commercially-compromised music industry. Their free-living, "beachy"- "outdoorsie" and natural sound is resounding in the hearts of young people who thirst for life, meaning and truth.

With an acoustic sound backed by Bongos, hand drums, a little harmonica and voices which send shivers down the spine (a far cry from the heaviness of screaming and crash symbols), to the deeply inspiring lyrics reflecting their life experience, BFT seems to strike a Universal chord in the hearts of everyone who hears them. Whether you are young or old, snowboarding, surfing, biking, "chillaxing", taking that long drive, or just plain living, BFT''s music has that "Universal Vibe" which rings in the heart of all of humanity- and will bring you to where you want it to take you!

Originally called simply "Barefoot", reflecting their free-spirited, beach lifestyle, Jay and Will were forced to change their name when Ashlee Simpson''s opening band from Texas had copyrighted the name (Doesn''t everyone in Texas wear boots?). Hence, "Barefoot Truth" was "born again"- adding "Truth" to their name to signify what they stand for.

Beyond the original music and the poetic, philosophical lyrics, Jay and Will are just plain great guys! That "truth" becomes patently obvious not only through their music, but when you see them in concert and the people with whom they surround themselves. There''s no anger here- as is so rampant in today''s mainstream music. There''s no dysfunction, no hatred, no one''s getting shot, no one''s stealing and no one feels "misunderstood". Instead, as their most popular song with young fans says, "I gotta roll if I fall". They are optimists who revel in all that life has to offer. They are as All-American as Apple Pie. They don''t care about labels, they don''t get caught up with the latest fads and they define their own reality on their terms! Surrounded and supported by their large circle of close friends and both of their families, they are the freshest breath of air whose lifestyle is a welcomed attraction and inspiration for anyone looking to find their own truth.

In January of 2006 the guys recorded "Club House Sessions". With Will leaving in February for a 5 month trip to New Zealand, they decided to put 6 new songs to tape, giving everybody something new to listen to during the 5 month break. This CD consists of a variety sounds- from the simplicity of just the two acoustic guitars (as well as some boot stomping) in ''Sandra Templeton''... to the more produced and politically driven ''Damage Done''.
