When he picked up the phone, singer Jeff Linsell wasn''t sure what he''d be getting himself into. He had just got home from a failed attempt with a short lived band in California and found himself calling his ex-guitarist Steve Dresser to see if he could get yet another project together. Jeff asked his former Cali band mates guitarist Josh Mitchell and bassist Jon Stoye to jump on board, who were both more than excited to start playing again. The four of them knew they had to make this one count. The group decided upon the name Blisstripp, a name Jeff, Jon, and Steve had used in a band right out of high school. Rehearsing previously written material, the band took their act on the road in the winter of 2005 playing a few shows a week.

"We were all just happy to be in a band and playing shows again," Linsell says. "The chemistry between us is unlike any other band I have been a part of. The response we got from everybody at the shows was extremely encouraging, which drove us to keep playing as much as we could .The band had become much less of a hobby for all of us, and slowly turned into something we realized we wanted to do with our lives."

By the end of spring the band had generated an ecstatic buzz all around Michigan, won several battle of the bands, and gained a respectable fan base. After playing the first few months of shows with various drummers, Mike Dunbar joined the group and the band went into the summer playing a number of festivals and even earned themselves opening slots for bigger named acts such as Alterbridge, Jimmie''s Chicken Shack, Seether and more. The bigger shows proved that the band had what it took to make some noise in the music industry.

"Summer time turned out to be great for the band. The turnout at the shows kept getting a little bigger each time and we knew we couldn''t keep up the momentum without a product," Dresser comments. "We had a couple new songs that we were thrilled with, but definitely needed a few more for a new recording."

With new material already in the works, the guys made the desicion at the end of summer to reside back in their hometown of Traverse City, MI and start preparing for a full length record. Spending hours upon hours rehearsing and writing, a full song list started to take shape. The new songs have a more mature and diverse sound compared to the previous demo work. Recording took place starting in the winter of ''05 and went until the end of January 2006. The new album is an incredible step forward for the group, and the band is sure to take the next step forward with the release of the record. Currently the band is embarking on a spring tour, and plan on touring the rest of the year in support of the record.
