Buffalino is headed by Peter King, a multi-instrumentalist and member of the Impossible Shapes (Secretly Canadian) who recently opened for Wilco and who have toured the country extensively over the past 4 years, sharing stages with Guided by Voices, Interpol, and Jens Lekman, among others.
But Buffalino is not side project fluff—they are a loud psychedelic folk four-piece that serves as King’s major musical outlet. Their sound is truly thunderous—always teetering between brightand dark. Centered around
the warm tones of a transistor organ, Buffalino brings folk songs to life with the power of that gathering storm—beginning with a simple strum or pick, songs gain momentum with each echo of voice and the pounding of drums, resulting in full-on energized freak-outs. King shares songwriting duties with Nick Hanson, Cory Becker and Vinnie Rotondaro (ex. Hollywood
(DC Garagecore)). Buffalino’s 2004 self-released The Thunder Cracks Above is now being repressed and distributed by The Silos in Ohio Collective.
