Really, all you need to do to listen to some songs is read this first paragraph only. If you’re just a plain born reading person, you can carry on, of course, it’s up to you. If you could just remember though, that if you like some of Bucky’s songs, please throw him a fish, send him home and he’ll be happy & wish you a nice day. If you don’t like Bucky’s songs, still throw him a fish, send him home, and he’ll still be happy & wish you a nice day!
Bucky was sort of born in a circus atmosphere in the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey mansion in Baraboo, Wisconsin, which during the war was temporarily converted to a hospital. This birthplace could be looked upon as either good or bad, depending. Through the years, Bucky has been able to explain away some of his oddball or eccentric behavior because of the possibility of having contracted some transmittable malady characteristics from the circus folks who may have been in the mansion, maybe for contract negotiations, etc.. If the wild shrieking hairless hunchback from Boise, for instance, or the terrible two-toed terror from Tanzania had been in there, maybe with a cold and sneezing or dribbling a runny nose all over the place, and if the Doctors or hospital staff weren’t very careful with cleanliness, it’s possible that the rag they used to wipe little baby Bucky’s face off with could have had some of those aberrant genes on it and Bucky caught them. For sure, Bucky hopes that was not the case, but he has always had an accentuated abnormal curve to his spine. That would be the bad part, of course. But, any abnormalities haven’t been bad enough where Bucky could have cashed in on them by getting paid by the circus for exhibiting in a side show. He’s just had to play with the hand he was dealt.
By the way, there already is written a biography of Bucky’s early years but there still needs to be editing , printing, and publishing before it eventually will be on some Bucky Krum website.
Bucky had a childhood and he grew up. He had jobs like bean picking, car washing, coin laundry cleaning, snow shoveling, furniture moving, irrigation pipe moving, concrete mixing, concrete wheeling, concrete finishing, mason tending, hole digging, truck driving, Christmas tree trimming, chicken farm boxing ( boxing chickens ), floor & wall cleaner manufacturing, venetion blind sanding, broke hole & grinding room working in a paper mill, dropped ceiling grid assembler, storm sewer inspecting, ambulance driving, guitar instructing, GATB & 8th & 10th grade equivalency testing, home rehabilitating, roof repairing, substitute teaching, ski lift maintaining, and things like that, on and on.
Bucky did a few activities, like, being an altar boy, ice skating, baseball playing, drinking beer, making black powder for his rocketry experiments ( one actually going out of sight up into the heavens somewhere, never to be found), band playing ( baritone and French horn), wrestling ( 3rd place state champ ), weightlifting, inventing ( two issued US patents for bicycle accessory inventions ), drinking more beer, triathlon racing, target pistol shooting, classic car restoring, and things like that, on and on.
Bucky married three times, with his first two wives blessing him with four children, but no children with his third wife, just 21 animals ( by actual count ) in the house within one month. Bucky blundered and married a cute little Puerto Rican charmer who obviously was a frustrated should-have-been zoo keeper. Bucky’s second wife is his favorite ex-wife, and he introduces her that way when they have get-togethers and meet new folks. She portends a little embarrassment being introduced that way, but Bucky knows it’s a feigning and that she likes it.
As far as the songs are concerned they are fairly self-explanatory, except that a note might be made here concerning “ Cold & Dead as Stone “. Bucky tends to write happy songs, or at least songs with some redeeming possible happy ending, but his friends said he should write a really sad song. So Bucky did. But it’s too sad and Bucky doesn’t want to write so sad a song anymore. Ok?
Bucky is putting together another CD which will probably come out in the " Country Folk " genre, with the songs more upbeat and Country flavored. ( please don''t forget the fish, ok? )
