People heard the hypnotic lyrics speaking of a hustler’s life. In this music they were consumed with the trials, situations and even the celebration of someone who seem to live the streets. And so these people came to one conclusion, “I Bet He Grind,” and Bettie Grind was named.

Hailing from Charlotte, NC, Bettie spit his first verse in his best friend’s living room on top of Outkast’s “Black Ice” beat. He continued to toy with the craft, but never gave it full attention until competing on Power 98’s “Free Style Friday” where rappers battle for bragging rights.

After Bettie Grind’s countless wins between 2004 and 2005, D.J. Mr. Incognito requested he drop a verse for Incog’s 5 o’clock traffic jam mix on Sept. 25, 2005.

Inspired by rap legends B.I.G., Jay-Z and Nas as well as others like Outkast and Raekwon. Grind’s style is groundbreaking, shattering every bar to resound the life of a hustler one verse at a time.

In June of 2004, Bettie Grind was chosen out of 500 acts as one of 30 to perform in Forever Loved Entertainment’s (E.A.R.S.) talent showcase. He went on to become one of the top five finalists at Club Babalua in Times Square, NY.

The song Bettie performed was also chosen by E.A.R.S. to be placed on their compilation album, which was released in November of 2004. He was requested to come back to New York and perform the song at Club Shyne during the E.A.R.S. album release party.

Medici, “Da StreetCaptain,” of Radio One asked Bettie to release his club single, “Fa Sho Pimpin’.” The single is a track off of his debut album, “Thrilla.”

“Fa Sho Pimpin’ ” has received rave reviews and mix show spins from D.J. Mr. Incognito of Power 98, Boogie D, Lady Q, and Medici of Radio One. Radio Host, Fly Ty, requested Bettie to release the track to Charlotte’s #1 Hip Hop and R&B radio station so it could be worked into rotation.

The song was placed on The Morning Madhouse’s special feature, “The Next Big Thing.” This feature allows local artists to introduce their music to listeners, radio personalities and the station’s program directors. This audience has the ability to vote the song into rotation. “Fa Sho Pimpin''” was also given the first and only 100% rating in the feature’s history. Therefore, Program Director Teri Avery and Music Director Deon Coles scheduled the song into rotation August 2005.

“Bettie Grind...HOT! There are no other words needed,” says radio host Fly Ty. “Bettie Grind has the charismatic style of rap tycoon Jay-Z, but with the lyrical energy of rap mogul Ludacris,” says D.J. Live of Power 98.

Grind opened for Young Jeezy at Summer Fest in Charlotte, N.C. He recently opened for Trillville at Club Diamond along with other industry artists. On Dec. 3rd 05’ he shared the stage with Lil’ Wayne, Big Boi and The Purple Ribbon All Stars at The Jingle Jam in the Charlotte Coliseum. He has also shared the mic with Anthony Hamilton remixing the unforgettable ballad, “Charlene.”

Bettie has toured with Power 98 for the past two years on there “Stop, Think, and Live” Tour, where he performed in the communities of Charlotte, N.C. and surrounding areas to youths.

Bettie Grind’s next steps are seeking artists, production and/or management deals with his company, HOOD SUPASTAR ENTERTAINMENT. He will continue to push the “Fa Sho Pimpin’” single and his latest creation the album “Thrilla.”
