Start out with a sassy song about a woman who tells what she is and isn''t and ends with a twist. Slow dance to song two where a woman sings about her lover who she is seperated from by distance. Song three tells what a woman finds attractive in her perspective or committed man. Jazzy number four describes the inital fear of jumping into a new relationship. Rock out with number five as a woman tells her friend to cut off the ties with her "Mr. Yesterday." Six is a romantic ballad where a woman asks her love a question she already know the answer to--wink, wink. Old-timey-folky number seven tells the love story of two orphans. Sing along to number eight because who hasn''t felt like they were surrounded by couples at one time--maybe even now? In flirty number nine a woman tells her love interest that they''ll nver know if it could work unless they go out. Becca Tracey is the songwriter of the songs on this album. Songwriting is what Becca is most passionate about. She loves playing with words and coming up with melodies. Singing and coming up with melodies are two things Becca has been doing since she was a very little girl. She is a Wisconsin native who is now in her twenties. During June, July, and Aug. 2006 she was singing songs from this album in the United Kingdom. September and October 2006 she will be singing in the Midwest. This album was recorded in Nashville, TN. Becca taught fifth grade ESL for two years in the Nashville area to finance her project. She produced this album with producer & r&b artist Jackie Simons. The album was mastered and packaged professionally in Milwaukee and Madison. All lyrics and instrument info for each song is printed in the included CD insert. Musicians on this album: Jackie Simons--all guitars, loops, synth, and some percussian, Connie Shaw--percussian & chanting, Bill Verdier--fiddle.
Influences:
Becca grew up listening to country, rock, pop, folk, blues, jazz, and gospel records, tapes, and CDs. In college she was one of three jazz vocalists for a 20 piece jazz performance class where she studied 1920s-1960s jazz. She has also been a member of many church, school, and community choirs singing gospel, pop, and classical music. She is a fan of many vocal stylists and many singer-songwriters.
