Details:
Veil Era’s charm is comfortably cradled within the strongholds of duality. Confliction and peace, soft and hard, folk and rock, politically fueled and socially conscious. It is their position within these dualities that allow them to shine as an independent musical powerhouse, gladly offering their fans the caliber musicianship and intoxicating experience that they desire, deserve, and dream about. The song “Missing the Clouds,” from their debut title album perfectly exemplifies the emotions that Veil Era can evoke within their listeners, boasting raw and unrestrained guitar mastery and lyrics thoughtful enough to riot. With drummer Russell Thomas staying on top of his driving intensity, Steve Ellsworth’s groovy bass lines nestled perfectly within “the pocket,” and a guitar chemistry that can only be found amongst brothers (Chris and Erik Olson), Veil Era will make you want to quit your job, hit the road like Jack Kerouac, and love every second of it!

Veil Era has the unique ability to musically articulate the inexplicable emotions that emerge within an artistic observer who falls in love with an expressive work. “Reach for the Sun” serves to be a great example of this while the echoed guitar and vocal dissonance seems to rattle the soul, resolving into a chorus that offers a gritty heaviness, seeking to invite it for a dance. This song manipulates tradition and displaces commonplace with its multi genre infused layering and emotional transcendence.
