Details:
“Mister Cooper” is the name of my first CD recorded for kids and their families. I had a great time making music with my friends. We sang songs about food, fish, rainbows, gardens, and washing your hands. Some of the songs are ones I made up and some are great, old favorites. We mixed together guitars, accordion, fiddle, trumpet, banjo, tuba, and lots of other instruments, for a variety of sounds and styles. Included in the package are the lyrics to all of the songs. Each CD cover was colored by one of my 2nd grade friends making it a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of art. Thanks and I hope you enjoy the music. Be sure to sing along...

Gather some graham crackers and a sippy cup, and round up the kids. This installment of “Sunday Single” features a song for the entire family, especially those with children from ages 4 to 6. The song is an instructional tale of cleanliness called “Wash Your Hands” by Mister Cooper (a.k.a. Ken Cooper). He’s a childrens’ musician and substitute teacher who performs in local schools and testifies to the learning powers of music.

“I wrote ‘Wash Your Hands’ about a year and a half ago,” says Cooper, who also performs with the local band Loose Acoustic Trio. “I was watching TV and they had a news piece about the flu season coming and that there was a shortage of vaccine. So what could people do to help themselves? ‘Wash Your Hands.’”

Ken Cooper Rocks!

Ken is amazing. He is a wonderful muscian and has a great way with everyone - including children. He is one of Sacramento''s treasures as far as I am concerned. This year he introduced my students to the Beatles and many of them have been writing their own lyrics since - not an assignment, just because they were so inspired. Real learning. Real joy. If you are a teacher or a parent, hire him to sing with your children! He also as a great CD available with all of his hits. Thank you Ken!
