Details:
What started as a lark soon became a joke. To labor intensely, restrained but never broke. Upon these times, we lent our strains, Assured in the fact, that we had no brains.

From corners we gain insight, into things we treat as light. And further our ambitions, as if we knew what''s right.

What knowledge could pass, in this we are sure, through hazy distant memories, of which we endure. So cast your eyes deftly, and worry your mind. And ignore contradiction, as we leave truth behind.

Purple Kush? Modern Day Tribe...
began somewhat inauspiciously as a typical garage band doing bad renditions of the Smiths and The Cult and, God help us, Billy Idol, back in the summer of 85. Strange how we came to do these songs, seeing as how the drummer, Chris Cain, had a background in jazz and Latin rhythms, the lead guitarist, Mark Muzzo, had his in playing Nugent, Pat Travers, and anything else that had a twenty minute solo, the singer/guitarist, Chris DeStefano, had as his influence, Jimmy Page for guitar, and the sound of murdered cats singing in an opera as his vocal influence.

Oh, if you are wondering about the bassist, you are a minority of a minority. What the hell is wrong with you? Nobody gives two craps about bass players, with the exception of paranoid loners and other bass players. But, if you must know, the idiot on bass (and yes, that would be me, the idiot writing this) Chris Muzzo, was forever ruined by emulating Geddy Lee, Chris Squire, and Geezer Butler. For those 4 of you scoring at home, that would be Rush, Yes, and Black Sabbath.

So, as you can see, this wonderful mix of musical leads to one schizophrenic band, and know you understand, at least where we are coming from when you listen to what we do. As with everything in life, there were good times (opening for Pat Travers), and there were bad times (going on stage at three o''clock in the morning on a Tuesday night). But whatever the luck of the day, Good or bad, we always found time in our hearts and minds, to scream, yell, and throw objects at each other, in a never ending quest to establish ourselves as South Florida''s most dysfunctional band. If not for Marilyn Manson, we just might have achieved that honor.

All that can be said now is, take a listen if you can, we are not a typical band of the times. What has been described as both dark and enlightening, usually at the same time, we call our own.....
