Today I am a family man that does everything that the world looks at as normal and upstanding. If I were to wear who I am and how I feel on my sleeve I wouldn''t have the freedoms that I have today. So I wear the mask. The one that makes everyone feel comfortable. But here is where I can just be....
Let me tell u about my origins. I originally started making music free styling over jazz beats played on the radio. I would use a karaoke machine to record those freestyles and then I''d pass them out at school. Kids would give me blank tapes and I''d dub my music on em. No charge. Strictly for the love.
The content of my music was never about having things. My microphone persona is not too distant from how I really am and how my mind works. Finding my sound stemmed from me searching for a delivery that would excite listeners but also make up for my regular ass sounding voice. That''s why I''m a little more theatric with my delivery. I leave the studio horse and with my stomach muscles hurting every session but the the passion that''s caught and the stress that''s released is the main motivation.
I write my music under the influence most of the time and then study and refine my lyrics sober. Then I''ll get fuct up again to record and mix my ish. I''m hands on in every step of the process including writing, recording, producing, mixing, mastering, album art, web design and marketing. A wireless keyboard controls the record and stop button from the booth to the editing room. I make music alone and then bring people in at the end to listen. Then when they offer their opinions I say fuuuugg your opinions right before saying, "Naa. So what else do u think"
If u had the opportunity to tell the world something, what would u say? To me singing about money and partying means that there is a lack of creativity. I really make music for me. I want my fans to enjoy but my music has no limitations. Oven Music is my second official independent release although I''ve been at this for a cool minute. Although delivery and lyrics are important, the most important thing for me is that the music feels right.
