Ashley Wright is a young, up-in-coming and already-polished artist in the world of music. With a vocal ability that can caress a phrase like Barbra Streisand, or emulate the musical styling of Michael Buble, she can also belt it out like a Broadway star. Wright brings a fresh new sound to the old classics of the 30’s and 40’s, as well as a unique take on covers and originals.
Born and raised in southern California, she now resides with her family in Brentwood, Tennessee. At the young age of 5, she was already singing solos and other ensemble pieces at her school and in church. At the age of 9, Ashley was a member of a 50-voice Sweet Adeline International Chorus (4-part barbershop harmony for women). She competed in her first quartet at the age of 12. Ashley then joined her church’s adult choir at the age of 13. By the age of 16, she began recording learning tracks for her father’s own vocal learning tracks business - Larry Wright Productions. These countless learning tracks have led to her extensive studio experience and sight-reading ability, which continues to deepen to this day.
Ashley loved the world of harmony so much that she later formed her own quartet called Sweet Synergy, in which she sang lead. They went on to place 4th in the Young Women in Harmony International Competition and 5th in the Women’s Regional Competition in 2007. At 19, she joined the South Bay Christian Choir, now known as the Brentwood Christian Choir – her father’s touring choir. Some of her other solo experience include performing at high school and college concerts, weddings, funerals and other various occasions. With her love for harmony, she also enjoys singing as part of a duet, trio, quartet, small ensemble or chorus.
Now, with the release of "The Melody Lingers On", Ashley is ready to take things to the next level. This simply powerful collection of unique Jazz/Pop arrangements are beautifully sung and expertly played. It is sure to lift your spirits and keep you wanting more!
