I''m extremely proud of this CD, my third full project done in Nashville. My producer, Jamie Slocum, helped me make some old Christmas favorites sound very fresh and new. I had some of the top session players in Nashville, and they hit this one out of the park! They were great tracks to sing with and really inspired me. My originals turned out beautiful as well, and I love the bonus tracks we threw in.
"Wherever You Are" is a song that was written about my father. He suffered from multi-infarct dementia, which is like Alzheimer''s, for 9 long years and passed away in 2000. I wrote this song from my Mom''s perspective as she watched the man that she had loved her whole adult life drift farther and farther away. It was painful watching the man who was always so strong and sure of himself become someone who didn''t even recognize his own family. Their love was strong, and she inspired all of us by her courage and determination to give him all the love and care she could up until the very end.
