MP3 Todd Adelman - Henry's Diner

Roots Americana Folk Rock

15 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Americana, FOLK: Traditional Folk

Details:
"Henry''s Diner," presents fifteen new songs from the Colorado recording artist. With bravely personal songwriting, an unaffected voice, and an old school-production approach, Adelman delivers a deeply riveting record stocked with gritty and dark ballads; serene and reflective soliloquies, and lilting jaunts through country life.

A thematic smorgasbord, Henry''s Diner celebrates eternal love and it mourns devastating heartbreak. It hits the road in spring and drifts home in the fall. It serves up a firey chimichanga and chases it down with a quenching jar of cider. Adelman''s stories are connected by a consistently honest voice that shares what he feels in his heart, and shows what he finds along the way. He succeeds in transcending this scrapbook of stories from everyday life into larger lessons, both joyous and haunting: Every day we love and every day we yearn; we look behind and look ahead. Every day we travel with Stinker the dog; we weep for the young girl left fatherless. When we can, we drop in to Henry''s for coffee, and we leave Martha a nice tip.

Recorded at the renowned Bushwick Studio in Brooklyn, Henry''s Diner draws on an appropriately natural pallet of tones, and each song showcases a different vintage guitar, including a 1937 Martin 0-18, 1937 National Resonator, 1943 Gibson LG-2, a 1957 Gibson Country Western, 1950’s Harmony archtop, 1966 Gibson J50 and a 1967 00-21. "I brought in all the guitars I own and a few favorites from friends and spent days playing and listening to them all, giving a lot of consideration to how their voices would flavor the different songs," explains Adelman, a confessed guitar-junkie beyond repair. "My wife, bless her heart, just listens patiently when I start exalting the subtleties of a G chord on an old Gibson like someone describing the pallet of a fine wine."

Co-produced with long-time friends Joshua Kessler and Peter Rubens, Henry’s Diner has a stellar cast of renowned NYC session men including, Joe Bonadio on Drums(Martin Sexton, Sloan Wainright), Conrad Korsch(Rod Stewart, Roseanne Cash, Joan Osborne) on Bass, Rebecca Martin on background vocals, Tony Trishka on banjo and pedal-steel wizard Gerald Menke.
