Each year, Archipel invites courageous music producers to work on a project with specific conditions. The concept for this second Assignement project is based around the number two: Two producers, each from different cities, producing two tracks, using the samples in Sample pack #2, with the result being two releases - a CD and a Netrelease.
This limited edition CD, carefully and seamlessly mixed by Pheek, contains 12 of these experimental collaborative efforts. It is a blend of rich warm and cool textures which flow just as smoothly as the ideas the artists shared while making them.
Navarro & des Cailloux et du Carbone begin the CD with their gentle connection from Paris to Montreal and back again. Letna & Gyges also from Paris and from Montreal render the listener''s minds into a state of static euphoria wrapping its arms around the mind like a soft comforting blanket.
Receptor & Scant Intone from Santiago and from Montreal blend shuddering hits and echoing windows of sound to form the sound of a hot desert afternoon with a slightly cool breeze blowing hair back into the ocean.
