I was not going to howl with the excitement of a life-long Cubs fan until they proved to me they could win. Then after feeling the energetic rush of Kerry Wood''s inspired demolition of the Atlanta Braves in the 5th and deciding game of that series, I could no longer hold back my "inner Cub." The resulting emotional exaltation spilled out of me like a thirst-quenching cold draft overflowing the rim of my beerstein.
