Details:
Although I am new to the national music scene, I am by no means new to music. This album, "Finding Shane," is the culmination of years of classical training and work trying to finance an indie dream.

The album itself is dedicated to my cousin, Shane Swisher, who died in 1991. He was abused by his parents and eventually died of his injuries. A portion of all proceeds from sales will go to support local charities, including Prevent Child Abuse America (https://www.tradebit.com).

So... you''re probaby wondering, "Well, what''s this girl''s style? What''s she do? Is her music right for me?" Let me say up front, I have never had any complaints. :-P My music has been described by listeners as "mellow," "very soothing," "appropriate," and "in the style of Debussy." In addition, I have seen in person someone cry over what I''ve written. I cannot describe it well because the music I have written is the audition of what I was feeling at that time, emotions which I myself cannot always describe well.

My original motivation was not to describe pain over something that happened a decade and a half ago. Around the time I was producing the CD, however, I found myself drawn more and more to a topic that was rarely discussed yet never forgotten in my family. Questions nagged at me: What would Shane have been like had he lived? Why had he died? Most importantly, I wanted to know where he was now -- a question that could only be answered by my grandparents, both now dead themselves. This question still remains. This was a time of great searching and introspection, trying to find the cousin I never had the chance to know. Hence, "Finding Shane."

I started learning music before grade school, but quickly adapted to new instruments and new musical styles. Toward the end of grade school, I was a three-time member of the Archdiocesan Elementary Band, performing on three different instruments during my tenure. By high school, I was adept at four separate instruments and continued adding to my repertoire. After high school, I gave up group performance, but immersed myself in composition. Now in college, I have made at least one of my dreams come true: I have released a solo album of my work.

Other motivations and hobbies: serving as an Officer in the U.S. Army; working in the field of Forensics; learning languages; writing; reading; auto-didactic activities. Check out my website to get to know me better. ;-)
