The Your Elfin Foot LP is the debut release of Autumnal, a project of singer songwriter Richard Besley. A gang of Melbourne’s finest classical, jazz and pop musicians got involved over the marathon 3 year recording process at Altantis Recording. Engineered and co-produced by David McCluney (Nick Cave, Vika and Linda, Things of Stone and Wood, Dan Brodie), Your Elfin Foot is a collection of beautiful folk inspired songs, from the percussion driven groove of the title track to the exquisitely delicate ballads of Ache and Warship. Moving and personal, Besley’s heartfelt lyrics rest on a lush arrangement of violins, marimba’s, harmoniums and mandolins with a few hooks and grooves thrown in by the pop meisters.
