Influenced heavily by Pink Floyd, Queen, and Dream Theater, "The Ecstasy of Illusion" is a unique blend of guitar-oriented rock which contains elements of metal, rock, funk, blues, surf, rockabilly, and classical styles.
The title is a reference the TV show "The Prisoner", specifically a line spoken in the episode "A Change of Mind". The central theme at work there is the right of the individual to be an individual.
If played in their default order, the songs suggest a person''s path of initial social conformity (and thus acceptance) within a given group, but ultimately lead to that person standing as an individial. The audio is then a musical interpretation of this process. The album''s sole vocal track "Do I Belong" is a "turning" point for the story''s character, if one follows the logic of the originally inspired theme.
Or, the titles can stand on their own, with each being its own form of an illusion, whose meaning is unique to each individual listener.
Or, the titles can simply mean whatever the listener wants them to...you decide.
