From the Artist: Be Encouraged! I give honor and praise to God the Father and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for choosing me to minister his praises through song. With the current downtrend in our economy and the deception of the enemy throughout the land, Psalm 121:1-2 encourages us to "Look to the hills from which cometh your help, all your help comes from the Lord the creator of heaven and earth."
Consequently, and so very timely, I was inspired to write, "Look to the Hills. As you listen to these songs, know that when you are confronted with difficult situations, you can Look to the Hills from which comes your help, comfort and strength. Shelly began singing at the of nine and embarked on songwriting in 1980. She debuted her first project entitled "Matchless God" in 1998 and Christmas single entitled "His Name" in 1999. In 2003, released the "Stay Beneath the Blood" project with her husband Kevin Barber. Shelly has also appeared as a guest artist for Heaven 600 Praise Fest and blacks in Government (BIG) Pentagon chapel. Shelly''s original song entitled "We Haven''t Forgotten" was chosen and performed for the Secretary of Defense''s First Responders'' Day at the Pentagon for 9/11; performed at the Rejoice 2000/R2K Gospel Music Writing workshop; the Kennedy Center with the Bolling Air Force Base Gospel choir and also with other clinicians for various praise & worship workshops.
Over the years, Shelly has been the guest artist and speaker for various women''s conferences and has opened services for renowned women of God such as Doctors: Carolyn Showell, Iona Locke, Jackie McCullough and Prophetess Juanita Bynum. Shelly is called the "Sweet Palmist of the Nations." It has been said, "the sweet lyrics and anointed voice has the brokenhearted and lifts Worshipers'' Spirit. Shelly currently serves in team ministry with her husband Pastor Kevin Barber of Word and Praise Deliverance Ministry in Baltimore, MD.
