"Controlled Insanity" is the 12th release by multi-instrumentalist Phil Vincent. This CD sees the culmination of songwriting, musicianship and performance which is synonomous with the Phil Vincent name. From the hard rock tones of opener "On Your Own" to the metal shred of "Why?" to the 8 minute prog opus "Carry On", complete with an insane 3 minute guitar solo by Billy Roux, this album takes the listener on a melodic rock journey that recalls classic albums by Foreigner, Boston, Scorpions, Dokken, Winger & the Beatles. (All of Phil Vincent''s influences)
"Something About You" crunches it''s way into the listeners head with a hook that''s unforgettable, "Life Goes On" showcases Steven Albanese''s guitar histronics as well as being the co-writer. "Part of Me" screams Dokken but with a modern feel. "More Than Nothing" is modern metal with classic rock influences. "Should Have Known Better" is AOR the the max with it''s pomp driven keys and huge chorus. "Tell Me Again" is another slab of heavy melodic rock that has another huge hook to keep the listener interested and the title track sounds exactly what the title describes....CONTROLLED INSANITY.....with Peter Walsh makes his recording debut supplying the lead guitar and keyboards.
