David Sims spent a number of years as co-songwriter, bassist, and singer for The Lackies - a rock band that released 3 albums from 2000 to 2005. In those years, Sims became known for a variety of songwriting styles, mainly influenced by XTC, The Beatles, and Ween. Since those days, David''s style has matured, yet still retains the sense of spontaneity and vibrancy of his early work. Mainly a studio musician, Sims occasionally plays live in the Greenville, SC area. FENCES represents songwriting work from a span of about ten years, and features some of the best musicians in the Upstate of South Carolina:
