When Dorothy was 2 years old, as they arrived at their vacation destination, she stood on the sidewalk with her head tilted to one side and asked her Dad and Mom, “Where’s the church?” A few months later sickness tried to overtake her small body, and the breath of Dorothy was nearly gone. God had a purpose for her, and her parents stood on the Word of God that said, “The Spirit of God has made (her) and the breath of the Almighty has given (her) life.” (Job 33: 4) Her parents stood firm on that life giving Word, and called out to the God of mercies to save their child and that’s exactly what He did on that miracle day of October 15th, 1986. She received her breath back and today she has returned it to Him for His Glory and the Healing of the Nations.
Since she was very young, Dorothy has had dreams and visions of ministering to people through song. She has seen herself traveling and sharing the love of Christ with others. Her heart has always been moved by those who are down and out. She has already gone on mission trips to El Salvador and Honduras, where she has visited prisoners and worked with orphans in a local orphanage. Dorothy is very aware of struggling youth, who need God’s unfailing love. She would always say, “I want my songs to minister life to hurting people… to people who do not go to church… to people who do not know Jesus. I want to make a difference with the songs I sing.”
Today, through her faith in God and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit she has been given the songs you hear in her debut project: “I’ll Meet You There”.
