"NEVER TOO LATE"
This is one of those songs that I can''t pinpoint what drove me to write it. I sat down one Sunday on the porch, five minutes later it was done. I called Robbie, my producer, and we spent the better part of the day on it. He spent the next week re-inventing the wheel and I could not be happier with the finished product. He get''s all the kudo''s for this one. Getting back to the ''what''s the song about", I want to say I started out thinking of my life, but then I feel it may inadvertently be about my oldest son, and choices he''s made. The bottom line is , we all have demons, and they may be in the form of many things, but no matter what, as long as you have God, true friends, a loving

" Last Chance"
Wrote this song 12 years ago. Just found it in the brain archives. Any one that is married to a performing musician has a place set aside in heaven. I was traveling a lot with my job and pretty much playing every night that I could and burning the candle at both ends, raising two boy''s and my wife working full time. Well this song came about when I strolled in , let''s say "plenty after 10", and she snapped. I did leave, but only for 3 day''s and came back with tail between my legs and my hat in my hand. I absolutley have the most amazing and understanding wife, and we are going on 29 years! I need to say a special thanks to Winston Jewell who lent his amazing talent ''s on this song. I''m sorry Robbie worked you like a mule that day in the studio, but once again he was right with the arrangement.

" Edge Of America"
This song was chosen as the title of the CD because, well it had to be. My home town is where this all started and Folly Beach is just that, The Edge Of America. The amazing thing is Robbie titled this before I could even suggest the same thing. Fortunately this happens with us a lot. The mental collaboration with him is sometimes scary. The song lyrics are self explanatory of the the reason I wrote it. I go back home and run into someone that has been in and on my mind since the high school days. On the way back home the inspiration was overwhelming. If I would have had a guitar in the truck, I would have probably stopped somewhere and wrote it then. The wonderful payback I get for this song is every time it''s played live, I get the gratitude of someone telling me thanks for the memory, or their own way this song reminded them of someone in their life. How cool is that! it also provided two things special to me, A hell of a title and a way to pay tribute to the place I miss and love....My home town.....The Edge Of America.

"Time for Goodbye"
Sooner or later we have to deal with the death of a loved one . When my dad passed away, I hit the road , and for compamy I had with me my 150lb dog and faithful companion, Higgins. The trip back to Alabama to get dad was a breeze, the trip back home was an emotional roller coaster. I strapped his urn in the front seat and we talked all the way https://www.tradebit.com I didn''t cry, why could I not cry? I mean, I cried on my last visit at the nursing home when I discovered he had no idea who the hell I was. I arrived back in Charleston and told mom to keep an eye on him until me and my brother could decide what we were going to do. I later was told that dad , being a sailor all his life , told my brother he wanted his ashes taken back to the dock at the Naval Memorial in Charleston. We did, and once again dad is a sailor out at https://www.tradebit.coml on Pop''s...oh yeah....I finally cried....boy, did I cry...

"90''s Dinosaur"
What happens when you give a company the better part of yourself, do exactly what they pay you to do.....in my case you get screwed! I was told after many years with this company that they were going to hire this kid right out of college and for me to give up my key accounts and that they would help me find new ones . I walked out , went back to my old boss and set out to kick some old fashion https://www.tradebit.com see people don''t buy from company''s they buy from people. I bounced back and also got this song out of it....By the way, this company was sold, and the owner lost his butt. Karma is such a wonderful thing....somtimes.

"THE FALL"
This song was co- written by me and a good friend Rick Federer. I was at Rick''s house and he started this strumming and I started free styling with the words. He had just gotten over a rough relationship, in fact that''s why I was over there that night. The song pretty much tell''s the https://www.tradebit.com meet''s girl , Boy fall''s in love with girl, Boy get''s the clown boot from girl. Rick and I had been doing this song for a while in an acoustic duo act we do around town. When I took the song to Robbie at RP MUSIC STUDIO, he took it in a whole different direction, which is the way you hear it now. I took a copy back to Rick for him to hear, and his reaction was ... well he was a smilin'' like a mule eatin'' briars ! I always like to tell Robbie, I give birth to the songs and he end''s up raising them. This is one that grew up real fine.
